One of the big drawbacks of having a “proper” workplace is that certain things don’t belong there. And tragedy of all tragedies, pets are one of them.
More’s the pity; few places could be more appropriate for our little stress relievers than a stress factory.
Sure, some businesses will try to compensate with various kinds of breakrooms and amenities.
But no amount of free pizza can match up to when your little loved one tugs you away from your screen when you haven’t moved for six hours, or having them cuddle up with you late at night.
Understandable that they aren’t allowed out in the “real world,” of course. Pets don’t have the social sense to behave in an office environment.
But when working from home, there’s not much chance of them committing the odd faux pas. Just the occasional ‘photo bomb’ of sorts during (video) chats.
If only our furry friends were much for conversation.
